About
Represent, and edify.
Two words, one company. Represent a business accurately and well; build something that lasts long enough to be trusted. The name has been the brief since June 2020.
01 — How it started
Before Reptify existed, its founder was already doing the job it would later sell. As COO of a service-based agency, Segg Tan ran the entire back end alone: admin, strategy, social, the website, marketing, photography and video, branding, PR. Every function an agency normally splits across specialists, run by one person.
That does not scale, and it did not. Building an offshore team was the only way to keep up with the work.
Then 2020 happened. Reptify Media was founded in New York City in June of that year, in the middle of a period when small businesses across the country were closing, laying people off, and trying to hold on to the customers they already had. The operational depth of having run every function of an agency single-handed, and the offshore team already being built to scale it, were what the company launched on.
The work then was what it was for everyone: helping local businesses stay visible and keep their name in front of the people who already knew them, at a moment when being findable was the difference between surviving and not.
02 — The name
Reptify is a portmanteau: Represent and Edify.
It was never meant to read as “we post on your social media.” Representation is showing a business accurately and well. Edification is building something that holds up: trust that accumulates rather than attention that spikes. The two together are the whole reason for the company, and they are still the test every piece of work gets put to.
03 — What changed
Reptify started where every small digital agency starts: social posts, SEO basics, a website build, some paid ads. That is a crowded category, and an owner cannot tell one agency from another by reading the service list.
What is different about 2026 is who decides. AI engines now answer the question a search used to start, and most businesses have spent a decade optimising for search engines and none of it for the thing that reads them, summarises them, and recommends someone.
So the company narrowed. Reptify removes digital friction: the nameable points where a good business loses revenue and time between a customer wanting them and choosing them. Four passes — audit, prioritise, implement, optimise. The offers map onto the friction, not onto a menu.
04 — Where we work
Segg Tan, Founder and CEO, runs it.
In person means in person. Sitting with an owner, walking a tasting room before it opens, listening to how the phone actually gets answered at half past five. That happens across the San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley and Napa Valley. Everywhere else is remote, which for this work costs a client nothing except the handshake.
The Napa address in the footer is a postal address and nothing more. There is no counter to walk up to, no opening hours, and no map pin, because claiming any of those would be the first contradiction in a record we ask clients to keep clean.
05 — What we will not do
We do not guarantee rankings, AI placements, call volume or revenue. Nobody can, and the ones who do are selling the guarantee rather than the work.
We do not publish numbers we have not measured, or reviews we have not been given. A figure on this site is either first-hand and true, or it is cited with a link to where it came from.
And we do not hand back a report with homework attached. The audit is written, the order is explained, and the work is ours to do.
